It’s Official! I’m running for Re-Election!

Today I officially filed my paperwork with the Maryland State Board of Elections and paid my $25 filing fee to run for re-election. I will be on the ballot! You can view all of the candidates running for local office in St. Mary’s County on the Board of Elections website.

Why I’m Running….

I am running for re-election for the St. Mary’s County District 1 Commissioner seat to continue the good work that our current board has done. I want to continue to preserve the rural heritage and character of our county while still supporting growth and improving our county resources. We face multiple challenges in the years ahead, but proper planning and careful budget management are important to get us through the challenges.

My goals are to maintain transparency, continue to support our EMS system, continue to improve our infrastructure (especially Broadband internet access) and work with our state senator and delegates to push back on unfunded mandates from Annapolis. I want to continue to work to build consensus with the other commissioners. I also want to continue to work with our various partners, including the Board of Education, the Sheriff, MetCom, our Library system and various state agencies like the Department of Social Services.
